Sugar Scout

Today marks the official launch of my latest creation:

My lovely friend (and client) Lauren of LARUICCI kindly passed on my name to her fellow jewelry designer friend Kenya of SUGAR SCOUT. After some emails were shot back and forth, we were quickly underway with her site. Voila! One month later, this is the result, and I'm very proud of it!

A few months ago, I was asked to help design and code my friend Teddy's blog. He's a Toronto-based rapper who's not only talented, but also a great guy!

Today marked the official launch of the site, as well as the release of his latest track, "The Way I Like To Live."

I recently made a website and did the branding for a fellow Ryerson University School of Fashion grad, Aicha Wali. I'm really proud of it and was excited to work with another fashion lady - it's great to stick together and help one another out!

Aicha showed her debut collection this past weekend, during which the site was launched. I wish her the best in the future and hope you check out the site and consider supporting her - after all, her clothes are easy to wear, classic yet on-trend pieces that nearly any woman could pull off!

Most recently, I had the pleasure of spending a 13 hr day in Rouge Park with a bunch of crazy hippies making this:



 It was the best.

the olympics collection at the bay

I recently modelled for the Bay's online magazine, B Insider. The shoot features pieces from the 2012 Olympics line... My favourite look is the beige trench paired with the gray athletics tee. Only stylists can make casual sportwear look so appealing!

This afternoon, I decided to take a break from coding a WordPress site to practice some HTML5 & CSS3 skills I recently learned in a continuing studies course at OCAD University.

We were shown an example website that used the transition & transform CSS3 properties in an interesting and dynamic way to create sliding cubes (without any JavaScript!). I decided to recreate it from scratch myself!

It's nothing too special, but you can definitely use the basis of it to create some awesome websites. You can check it out here.

I recently did some typography work for a filmmaker friend of mine, David Thomson. This is the latest video he's completed for Saskatonian band, Sly Business, which I designed the titles for. Check out more of his work on his Vimeo page!

This is a little sneak peek at my new batch of business cards that are currently en route from L.A. I will make sure to take a quick snap of them upon their arrival... Hopefully they'll end up on one of my favourite design sites like Designspiration!

RUINS Spring Launch

My good friend Michael Thomas of THOMAS// and his partner in crime, Joshua Reichmann of RUINS on Queen West have teamed up to create an amazing line of clothes, exclusive to the Toronto boutique. I had the privilege of getting a sneak peek of the debut collection when I photographed it a few weeks back. The designers' focus on tailoring, cut and fabric show that they aren't out to break down boundaries in terms of style or trends, but to create timeless, quality pieces that are great for layering and pairing with nearly anything in your wardrobe.

The launch is on March 10, 2012 at RUINS (960 Queen Street West) from 8pm onwards. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served while you mingle and browse the collection. I will be away, so make sure to go and let me know how you like it! Click for the Facebook event.

everything's coming up roses

Today I woke up to find an email in my inbox from my former boss at Seventh House PR. Style.com did a feature on Valentine's Day-themed pieces and included a photo of Erickson Beamon for Anna Sui rose stud earrings - a photo that I just so happened to take during my time in New York!

The photo itself is by no means special, but I guess it's kind of cool that something I made is up on everyone's go-to fashion site.
