Takk fyrir, Ísland
I've never before felt this moved by a place or a country. Iceland truly changed my perspective on so many things and I can't begin to describe how amazing my week there was. Before coming back, I was trying to find the perfect souvenir - a viking helmet, a chunk of lava rock... But all I ended up buying was Of Monsters And Men's newest album. They're an Icelandic band who I saw play in Reykjavík Downtown Hostel (where we were staying) for the Iceland Airwaves music festival. They were by far my favourite act and the venue was so intimate and packed with people. I fell in love with their newest single, Little Talks. The next day on the way back from the Blue Lagoon Chill Party after having had the time of my life, Little Talks came on the radio of the Reykjavík Excursions coach bus. We were driving past miles and miles of untouched lava fields; black rocks with mustard yellow moss and volcanos and mountains lining the horizon. That moment moved me so much - the song, the landscape and the mere thought of being in such a preserved country with such a preserved culture, together created one of the most beautiful moments I've experienced. I think it will be a while before I can listen to that song without my eyes watering.
So in the end, music was the perfect souvenir to bring back with me, as it evokes more memories than any lava chunk would. Takk fyrir, Ísland. See you same time, next year. <3

behind the scenes | blurred
My wonderful friend Mikey (Michael) of THOMAS// recently posted some photos on his blog that he took behind the scenes of my university capstone project entitled "Blurred." Not only is he an amazing designer, he also takes beautiful photographs! Best of luck in Berlin, my love.

hot & sweaty
Found myself in this video... I was waiting in line to check out the clothes at the Topshop pop-up store at Queen West and Soho. It was disappointing, but at least I got this out of it...?

eyeopener article
A while back, I was interviewed by Ryerson student/the Eyeopener's Arts & Life editor, Gianluca Inglesi, about my future plans as a School of Fashion graduate. I must note that it's not a very accurate depiction of me... I don't have very big dreams and I don't plan on conquering the world of fashion and design. I just like New York City, fashion and web coding. However, if [fashion] world domination comes with it, I won't object.
There was also a photoshoot involved, but who knows where the photos ended up. You can read the article here.
Also, here's a picture of my future NYC BFF Mary-Kate (once I've conquered the fashion world) to make this post more visually appealing.

Area 51 - "The intense secrecy surrounding the base, the very existence of which the U.S. government barely acknowledges, has made it the frequent subject of conspiracy theories and a central component to unidentified flying object (UFO) folklore."
True or not, I find UFO's, aliens & conspiracy theories surrounding the topics incredibly interesting. This video rekindled my interest in the subject.
