arr, matey!

rarely have i found someone who doesn't like or at least appreciate chanel. black + white, tweeds, pearls, the jacket... coco and karl have done well in regards to branding.

i have always been one of those people who appreciated chanel, rather than related to or desired a chanel piece, but this year's resort collection has definitely caught my eye.

the show opened with tricorne pirate hats and black capes with sexy lingerie inspired swimwear beneath - oh, and bare feet. watch out for splinters, girls! as many of you may know, i love black, so to see a lot of black swimwear and garments in a resort collection really got me excited.

sexiest pirates i've ever seen

it's this photo that was shown on the front page of style.com that pulled me in to view the rest of the collection. i have to say, this collection wouldn't look half as good if it was on a banal runway; this boardwalk in venice makes an absolutely gorgeous backdrop for the classic blacks and whites as well as the rustic reds used in the collection. my favourite part is the rows of lights used to light up the boardwalk (they remind me of a carnival).

this collection in my opinion is much better than chanel's 2009 resort collection (it would've been better if a model fell in the pool... just saying!). check it out here.

i have a dream

well, it's more like i'm setting a big goal for myself. a "biggie g", one might say. or not...

by this time next year, i aim to be in new york city, interning at nylon magazine for the summer. i of course have to save up a lot of money, and trust me that will be a challenge in and of itself. secondly i have to get a visa, which i hear takes a long time to do. also, i'm not sure, but i think to get a visa, you have to have a job waiting for you...? i would need a part-time job of some sort besides nylon because that would be unpaid. i'm thinking of trying to transfer to an urban outfitters in new york. if you're reading this and happen to know anything about visas or working in the states, let me know please! i also need to find living arrangements, though i do have some people i would consider calling up to help me out.

if this doesn't work for next year (despite the effort i will make this year), i'll try for summer 2011. if you know anybody in new york who wants to rent out their closet for me to live in, let me know!

erry day i'm hustlin'

okay. i love everything about this video, especially the styling. favourite part? the giuseppe zanotti b+w platforms (also worn by gwyneth paltrow in the may issue of elle canada).

gwyneth's feet

so maybe she has a stylist... but hey, beyonce is seriously fierce.

art bitch

my art is called egocentric soft porno, or maybe it's just narcissism. my one and only subject goes from something like anything but me-ism. wouldn't it be easier for beardsley? he could drop the paintings and photograph his penis or take pics of the chicks - yeah, you know what i mean. wouldn't it be better for escher? he could drop the math and make it happen on his mattress. two girls and a cam, three girls and a cam; put a dog there and you got polaroid scam.

i ain't no artist; i am an art bitch. i sell my paintings to the men i eat. i have no portfolio and i only show where there's free alcohol.

i am so hardcore. i sell my crap and people ask for more. call me revolutionaire; i poo on a plate and get it published on visionaire. what i do, it's called art shit and don't you dare make fun of me cuz everything i do was featured on the pages of i-D.

lick lick lick my art tit. lick lick lick my art tit.
suck suck suck my art hole. suck suck suck my art hole.

gareth pugh

Gareth Pugh from Purple Magazine on Vimeo.

this is gareth pugh's fw09 collection. rather than having a runway show like all other designers, this video was made in collaboration with ruth hogben and shown at paris fashion week this year. sooo great.
